 [IT] Roma MVR è una nuova applicazione per visitare Roma attraverso il tempo, visualizzandone l'aspetto nelle varie epoche, grazie al sistema Time Window. Time Window è un sistema MVR (Mixed Virtual Reality) che utilizza delle finestre temporali, aperte dall’applicazione nelle principali aree monumentali della città, permettendo di visualizzare lo stato di un sito archeologico, un’area urbana o un monumento nei diversi momenti della sua storia, sovrapponendo interattivamente in dissolvenza le ricostruzioni 3D allo stato attuale dei luoghi. Se si utilizza l’applicazione in prossimità delle aree per cui sono disponibili le finestre temporali, il sistema MVR, che sfrutta i dati GPS , della bussola e del giroscopio, ci mostra una visione panoramica attuale della zona; spostando l'iPhone, l'immagine segue i nostri movimenti individuando i monumenti che ricadono nel campo visivo. Attivando la modalità “salto nel tempo” tramite una lenta dissolvenza è possibile visualizzare le fasi storiche più antiche, permettendoci di interpretare con facilità le vestigia superstiti del passato. La prossimità di altre finestre temporali, rispetto alla nostra posizione, è segnalata da uno strumento che ci indica la direzione per raggiungere un nuovo, privilegiato, punto di osservazione. Se si utilizza l’applicazione mentre si è lontani dalle aree interessate, oppure se non si vogliono seguire le indicazioni automatiche, o le funzioni bussola e giroscopio, si può selezionare l'area dalla lista o dalla mappa, ed attivando la modalità manuale è anche possibile visualizzare le panoramiche semplicemente spostando il dito sullo schermo. Aree attualmente disponibili: Colosseo, Foro Romano, Palatino, Fori Imperiali.

 [EN] Rome MVR is a new application to visit Rome across the ages and see what it looked like in the various periods thanks to the Time Window system. Time Window is an MVR (Mixed Virtual Reality) system based on time windows opened by the application onto the main monument areas in town, which allows you to view the condition of an archaeological site, urban area or monument, in the various moments of its history, with an interactive overlap, fading over between 3D reconstruction and their current appearance. If the application is used in the vicinity of areas for which time windows are available, the MVR system, which avails itself of GPS, compass and gyroscope data, provides us with an updated and geo-referenced overview of the area; if you move the i-phone, the image follows our movements pointing to the monuments within our field of vision. Thanks to the “salto nel tempo” [“time warp”] mode, it is possible to view the most ancient historic phases slowly fading, which allows for easy understanding of remains from the past. The proximity of other time windows with regard to our position is indicated by a tool which shows how to reach a new vantage point. If the application is used far away from the areas in question, or if you do not wish to follow the automatic indications or the compass and gyroscope functions, it is possible to select the area from the list or from the map. Moreover, the manual mode allows you to display an overview of the area simply by moving a finger on the screen. Areas currently available: Colosseum, Roman Forum, Palatine, Imperial Fora.
