[IT] L'evoluzione umana può essere definita come un processo di trasformazione iniziato in epoca molto remota e ancora oggi in corso. È stato un processo di cambiamento culminato nell'Homo sapiens, il solo essere umano che oggi esiste sul pianeta. In che modo siamo diventati ciò che siamo oggi? Come siamo cambiati? Ci sono stati molti cambiamenti nel tempo che ci hanno resi umani. Studiare i diversi ritrovamenti archeologici e i resti umani possiamo sapere e comprendere la nostra evoluzione biologica e culturale. La Grotta del Tempo consente di sperimentare un viaggio nel passato e vivere nell'ambiente di migliaia di anni fa, per comunicare interattivamente con i nostri antenati. In questo modo l'eredità di Atapuerca sarà trasmessa in modo innovativo alle future generazioni. Per favorire una maggiore diffusione della conoscenza del patrimonio storico e archeologico, la Grotta del Tempo cerca di comunicarne e diffonderne la ricchezza alle prossime generazioni in un modo altamente visivo e interattivo. Il progetto include la realizzazione e l'installazione di un ambiente di realtà virtuale in stereoscopia. Consente di provare l'esperienza di viaggiare nel tempo e attraversare migliaia di anni per comunicare con i nostri antenati in un contesto immersivo e drammatico. Questo progetto vuole presentare una giusta combinazione di tecnologie applicate al patrimonio culturale, con il fine di comunicare al pubblico l'importanza dell'evoluzione umana con modalità didattiche innovative e interattive, creando un ponte fra la ricerca e la società.

EN] The human evolution can be defined as the human being transformation process since our ancestors’ period till current days. It has been a changing process that ended in Homo sapiens, the unique human being that exists in the planet. How have we ended as we are right now? How have we changed? There have been many changes along the time that made us humans. Studying the different archaeological findings and human remains we are able to know and to understand our biological and cultural evolution. The Cave of Time will enable to feel the experience of travelling to the past and living in thousand years ago environments, in order to communicate with our ancestors interactively. This way Atapuerca´s legacy will be transferred to future generations innovatively. To encourage greater dissemination of knowledge of the historical and archaeological heritage, the Cave of Time seeks to communicate, disseminate and transfer their wealth to future generations in a highly visual and interactive way. The project involves designing and installing a stereoscopic virtual reality space . It enables to feel the experience of time travel and live on stage for thousands of years to communicate with our ancestors in an immersive and dramatic environment. This project aims to present the appropriate combination of technologies applied to heritage, with the aim of communicate to the public the importance of human evolution in a more innovative and interactive teaching, creating a link between the research and the society.
